Lima
The Lima department is home to the Peruvian capital and is a vibrant and diverse tourist destination that combines a rich colonial history, a thriving gastronomic scene and a lively nightlife. One of the main attractions of Lima is its historic centre, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1991. Visitors can admire the impressive Spanish colonial architecture of Plaza de Armas, the Lima Cathedral and the San Francisco Convent, which features an impressive library and underground catacombs.
